This o-ring is used with the bolt extractor as an upgrade.  The extractor spring o-ring surrounds the extractor spring to help dampen it and absorb shock from for the extractor. It also helps provide a more positive extraction of the empty casing. Replace it any time you're doing maintenance work on the bolt.
