  • Condition: EXCELLENT CONDITION. BRIGHT WHITE PLATES WITH BROWN TERRA COTTA BACKSIDE. VIVIDLY COLORED HAND PAINTED GRAPHICS WITH HIGH GLOSS GLAZE. THERE ARE NOCRACKS, STAINS, CRAZING, SIGNS OF SURFACE WEAR, OR UTENSIL MARKINGS PRESENT. ONE PLATE HAS A SESAME SEED SIZED CHIP TO THE OUTER RIM.

    Description

    Offering this great pair of two vintage Mid Century Modern Fruit Grape Pod salad plates by Stangl Pottery.  These plates are hand painted and vary slightly from plate to plate.  They feature a pod of periwinkle blue grapes ripening on the vine with leaves.  There is a blue green inner border with a bright yellow ring surrounding it.  There is a brown scroll design on the outer edge and a yellow rim.  There is a high gloss glaze finish.  The plate is 8 1/4 inches in diameter.  There are no cracks, stains, crazing, or signs of surface wear present.  There is one sesame seed sized chip to the outer edge of one plate with minimal loss of ceramic and color. The plate is free of defects and in excellent condition. These plates continue to show beautifully and I consider the pair to be in very good condition.
